Mission Linen

Las Vegas, NV | 2022 - 2023

The Mission Linen building is a post World War II (WWII) building built in 1950 with a unique sense of scale compared to the surrounding environment and stands as one of the most recognizable historic buildings in the downtown Las Vegas Arts District. Long vacant, the building has been longing for an adaptive-use restoration to bring back that shimmer and shine while keeping that downtown arts district grit and sensibilities. It has the perfect bones for a contemporary industrial renovation with its exterior brick, large storefront steel windows, vintage chicken wire glass, exposed structural steel, and exposed bow truss wood ceiling. Buildings from this era are hard to find in Las Vegas as many were demolished or went through so many renovations, they are unrecognizable now.

The most important goal of this project was being able to salvage and reuse as much of the exterior and interior structure and materiality as possible, while modernizing the space to be functional for the three incoming tenants that are right in line with the contemporary industrial adaptation of the Mission.
